HPU PROUDLY REPRESENTS HAWAII AT NSAC NATIONAL FINALS IN DC
HPU represented AAF District 13 in the National Student Advertising Competition Finals in Washington, DC held on Thursday, June 4th.

Visit our Facebook Page for photos!

Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) proudly represented AAF District 13 in the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) National Finals in Washington, DC held on Thursday, June 4th.

They were one of 18 National finalists that presented their Ad campaign going head to head against such schools as Syracuse University, Cal-Berkley, University of Virginia, Florida State, Texas Tech and the University of Alabama, to name a few. Their client was CENTURY COUNCIL, a non-profit organization funded by distillers. They had the task of putting together a fully integrated advertising campaign to fight binge drinking among young adults in the United States through but not limited to TV, Radio, Print, Alternative Media, Promotions and Public Relations. The budget was $10 million.

Representing HPU in DC were: Sarah Gabot, Shannon Gillespie, Anne Martin, Rachel Nagata, Susanna Nielsen and Martin Valdez. Faculty Advisers: Katie Clark and Rose Helens-Hart. Although HPU did not win the competition, one common comment we received was “this was the best school to come out of your district.” Each participant walked away with an experience of a lifetime and we hope that each one will consider a career in Advertising in the near future.

Mahalo to Hawaii Pacific University and Chaminade University of Honolulu for participating in this year’s competition.  State Farm Insurance is the 2010 Sponsor of American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition.
