|
Join us on Monday, August 10, 2009 as AAF-Hawaii and the Hawaii Association of
Broadcasters presents Marc Berman, Senior Television Editor, Mediaweek.
Marc Berman (aka “Mr. Television) is the Senior Television Editor at MediaWeek and
creator/editor of The Programming Insider, a daily online analysis of television
programming, that people in the industry refer to as the “bible”. It reaches more than
50,000 readers per day.
Berman is also author of the weekly Mr. Television column; the creator of Berman on TV,
a series of webcasts about television; the syndication reporter; and webmaster for
PIFeedback.com, an online chat room.
MORNING WORKSHOP, 9:30am to 11:30am
Cost: $35 members; $45 non-members
Marc will be conducting a special Morning workshop geared toward anyone
interested in television and the how and why behind network strategies and
programming.
His in-depth look at the upcoming 2009-2010 TV season will include a quick review of the
current season; an analysis by network at their fall schedules; and a discussion by night
to see what shows (new and returning) will work, and what won’t.
Which TV network will dominate in total viewers and key demos?
Which network (if any) will have the next big drama or sitcom?
Will five nights of Jay Leno benefit NBC, or could it put the “nail in the coffin”?
Can Fox compete in the 4th quarter without American Idol?
Will The CW survive?
After the complete network analysis, Marc will discuss what is coming up in midseason,
including new and existing programming in cable and syndication (first-run and off-
network).
LUNCH: “TELEVISION FALL PREVIEW with MARC BERMAN”,
12 noon to 1:45pm
Cost: $35 members; $45 non-members
He will also be headlining our TV Fall Preview Presentation during Lunch.
See the hottest new shows to be released this fall from KHON2 & CW, KITV4, KHNL & K5, KGMB9 and Oceanic Time Warner Cable. Meet and hear from each station representative. Hear from Marc what two shows he feels will do the best and why; and get his anecdotal opinions and comments from his recent Television Critics Conference.
